McTimoney Animal Therapy
What is McTimoney Animal Therapy?
McTimoney Therapy is a non-invasive, gentle, safe and effective physical therapy that works to realign and balance the animal's musculoskeletal system, restoring health, movement, soundness and performance. It was developed in the 1950s by a chiropractor called John McTimoney, who modified his chiropractic techniques so as to be able to practice on both humans and animals.
What to expect?
I will take a detailed history about your dog or horse, and observe your dog or horse both at rest and when moving. The spine, pelvis and other relevant areas are then examined for muscle spasm and restrictions in movements of the joints.
Treatment involves precise and gentle adjustments to help restore full range of joint motion and relieve muscle spasm. Most animals readily accept and enjoy the treatment and no anaesthetic or drugs are needed.
I may suggest rest or limited exercise for a few days after treatment, depending on the nature of the problem.
* Please note, under the Veterinary Act 1966 veterinary permission is required prior to treatment commencing*
